Lure over the weed beds
Barry persisted out into the deeper water with a soft plastic twitched over the weed beds. This strong brownie took the lure quite softly and once hooked tore off at a rate of knots.
Early season with a lure
Early season, David was able to get his soft plastic right in amongst the sticks along the shoreline. David's good action to the lure and aggressive action by the fish resulted in a number of hook ups.
Fine brown trout on Arthur’s Lake
Early season and a cool day. Persistence with a bead-head nymph over the weed beds at Arthur's Lake landed John this fine brown trout.
Quick Cast Success
Later in the day as the hatch wanes, fish will still show to the odd dun. Anthony uses a keen eye and a quick cast to nail this one.
Australian Salmon on Fly
Visiting American outdoors journalist, Dale Spartas, while in Melbourne for his daughter's wedding, took the opportunity to enjoy a Tasmanian angling experience. After heavy rains, dirty water, and with most trout fisheries closed, we decided to spend a couple of hours on the Tamar River. Between Ray, Dale and myself we landed more than 40 Australian Salmon on the fly.
