In a northern midlands river, a wild trout lies in wait on a narrow flowing channel. A single bow and arrow cast with a grasshopper landed with a splat resulted in a solid hookup. An 8lb tippet was used to get the fish in quickly and released without harm.
 
When water temperatures are above 20 deg Celsius it’s really important to give these fish a good chance of survival, so minimal time out of the water.
