Fly Fishing Tuition & Workshops for Groups
Have you ever wanted to learn fly fishing? Improve or master it?
Fly fishing workshops are a great option for beginners and those who would like to expand their skills
Introductory fly fishing workshops are booked by groups, and are very suited to beginners, and also masters, as well as groups with mixed skill levels. Our guides can fast track your skills and understanding of the wonderful sport of fly fishing. We start with group instruction on the very basics of casting, an overview of fly fishing, flies, fly lines, rods, knots, insects, trout, etc. then we spread out and each person in the group receives some individual coaching throughout the workshop.
We provide all fishing gear, lunch and refreshments.
Groups make their own way to the venue. We let you know the location and meet you there. (Note: For those that don’t have transport, pick up can be arranged. This will incur a travel charge, and will eat into your workshop time).
The workshops run from 10.30am – 2.30pm (4 hours). The focus is on building your casting and line control skills, your understanding of fly fishing, trout behaviour and habitat, etc. and does not provide the opportunity to catch fish.
The price is $200.00 per person (minimum price is $1,000.00 if there are less than 5 participants).
Participants may extend the Basic Workshop for a further 2 hours, giving them the opportunity to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills, with an opportunity to catch a fish.
The price to extend the Basic Workshop is $100.00 per person, plus a fishing licence. These start at $23.00 for a 48 hour licence, $12.00 if aged 14 – 17 years, and under 14 does not require a licence.
Workshop locations are selected according to where your group is based, along with other conditions (i.e. weather, water levels, logistical arrangements)
