Trout and fly fishing at times of bushfire

Tasmania has been in the news lately due to multiple bushfires around the state. Currently the main challenges are in Tasmania’s Central Highlands, down south, in the west, and most recently in the north east.

With the closure of many roads and walking tracks, many visitor experiences are being affected.

For those planning a Tasmanian fly fishing experience, we do have plenty of fishing locations to choose from that are away from the fire affected areas. Please get in touch with us and we can help you plan your trout fishing adventure, and advise accommodation options etc.

For travelers already in Tassie, or those planning a trip, here’s how to keep up-to-date with advice and information:

Emergency radio is the ABC, or website: https://www.abc.net.au/

For up-to-date information on the location and status of bushfires, visit Tasmanian Fire Service website: http://www.fire.tas.gov.au/Show?pageId=colGMapBushfires

For road closures etc., visit: https://www.police.tas.gov.au/community-alerts/

We are so grateful to all the firefighters and others involved with fighting the bushfires, protecting people and property. Keep safe everyone.
